It is a Biblical principle that you reap what you sow. The secularist may call it karma.
Years ago when I used to lead worship in Church, I used to comment (at home) about those that would just stand there and look miserable.
Well----drum roll please----I am now one of those people.
Music is subjective---different genres appeal to different people, it is a generational thing.
My ear and musical ability tend to cause me to pull faces and utter sighs if I hear a wrong note/chord/overly loud music/mis-pronounced words and read poor grammar.
That is why I am one of those that stand with a glum face when in Church hearing loud music with no clarity of sound.
Sadly, it doesn't help me to "engage" in worship. So, whereas in the past the elderly people put up with/suffered my leading/and were patient with me, I recognise the need to be the same those those leading in my Church.
Not that everything I did was perfect and right, but I see people making the same mistakes/having the same drive as I. Could they learn from my experience? Would it be right to "share" with them? Would it be seen as helpful or Kevin just expressing his opinion---again?
