I haven't posted here for a while and on checking...it's true, I haven't ;)
So what's happened? Been in new role for three months so have decided to take one week's leave to recharge ready for the close down of year-end accounts. There has been so much to read and learn, trying to get to grips with IFRS and wondering how I will understand how to restate the 0910 accounts when I am learning how to state 0910 under UK GAAP!
On the football front, Portsmouth FC have become the first Premiew League team to enter administration and have 9 points deducted. This has almost confirmed our relegation. Despite the lack of money, the firesale of star players, etc we have reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the second season in three. The semi final is against Tottenham Hotspur managed by an ex-manager and several ex-Pompey players just to add to the spice of the situation.
In England, we have a saying: March winds, April showers bring forth, May flowers. Well the weather this year to date has been awful. Snow in January, seemingly endless rain, veyr little sunshine. Today, Easter Monday we ahve had a dry day, sunshine but strong southerly winds....just right for a bracing walk along the seafront in Portsmouth.
