Following on form my previous post, this last Saturday we had the privilege of having Ken Burton come to our Church to run a Gospel Workshop.
It is so true that the ability to sing "true" Gospel can only come from the experience of knowing Jesus as Saviour. It comes from a soul that is connected to Heaven rather than from a head knowledge of singing and playing a technique.
In my informative teenage years, I listened to and played the music of Andrae Crouch. This afternoon, I contacted my dear friends Google and YouTube and came across some videos of AC singing and playing from his experience.
I don't know why, Jesus loved me.
I don't know why, He cared.
I don't know why, He sacrificed His life
Oh, but I'm glad, I'm glad He did.
Where would I be if Jesus didn't love me?
Where would I be, if Jesus didn't care?
Where would I be if he hadn't sacrificed His life?
Oh, but I'm glad, I'm glad He did
So glad He did, so glad He did.
He left His mighty throne in Glory,
To bring to us redemption's story,
Then He died but He rose again just for you and me
Oh and I am glad, I'm glad He did.
I don't know why, Jesus loved me.
I don't know why, He cared.
I don't know why, He sacrificed His life,
Oh, but I'm glad, I'm glad He did.
So glad He did, so glad He did.
Through revisiting the music of my youth (I hit 50 last week) I am gaining inspiration for moving on with FC:the Choir. Maybe it's a sign of old age in looking back, but I am so grateful for those who input into my life and led me to knowing Jesus.
