A new year, a new year and another year older

We saw the New Year in with good friends Nigel, Judith and Josh. Nigel used to be a boss of mine in another career and we became friends. As is our practice we celebrated at Kitsch N D'Or who did the most awesome 6 course meal for the princely sum of £35 which included a glass of champagne.

The year was barely a week old when we had real snow. This caused traffic chaos and over the next few days some roads were barely passable with the snow having turned to thick ice. All long gone now and we look forward to warmer days.

Having counted down the weeks, days and even seconds to my leaving previous employment I now realise I have now completed 4 weeks in my new job. Certainly time doeth fly by.

FBC seems a very good place to work...people very welcoming....a good bunch to work with.....the bike and train journey to and from is not bad.....the field of work has presented a steep learning curve.....opportunity to read up on technical aspects of accounting and advise senior management.....life is good :)

Last weekend was my 51st birthday. I spent it with those near and dear to me (other than youngest who is still away at Uni) and of course it involved food. On the Saturday, Joy & I went to an "all you can eat" Indian restuarant in Fareham - "Cafe Tusk". On the Sunday we went to Kitsch N D'Or again with our eldest and her crew. It is nice to be on first name terms with the owners and as usual the quality and quantity of food was first class. Here's some pictures -- enjoy. (to follow)
