Well today was the day of interview for my next secondment. Thankfully, this time all went well and I had answers ready. Things I found off-putting were: the frequency of closed questions so afetr a while I gave mono-syllabic one-word answers and tow interviewers looking at their watches! Was I that boring????? Things I found helpful were: the lead interviewer giving a nod of the head during my answers---this showed me I was doing well and when to shut up.
When HR rang to give me the result, I got the usual "so Kevin, how do you think it went today?" My response was not flowery---but brusque (as usual)--" cut to the chase and tell me"... the answer was --"you got it"---woo hoo....and they want me to start on Tuesday.
On telling my existing team, I am now told they only want to release me for 4 days per week because the team will be down on numbers with my secondment, long-term sick, holidays and two resignations.......negotiations will now ensue between the department heads----seems I wanted by everybody . . . .lol
So having only this week returned to my team this week, I am now deserting them again.
Now I can look forward to my holiday.
